Investigate your mind’s real nature
So that your pure and total presence will actually shine forth.
Longchenpa, You Are the Eyes of the World
Our moment-to-moment experience of life is in large part determined by our conditioned belief system. To explore our core beliefs and then relax our focus and allow the wider perspective of total openness to flood through us and light our world from within is the purpose of this workshop.
We will explore experience of pure and total presence and the inner spaciousness from which pure awareness or spacious presence arises. We will do this by learning to look at and accept our moment-to-moment experience as an opportunity and doorway into inner harmony.
We will become aware of the ongoing inner and outer struggles that play out and create suffering in our lives and develop the awareness and willingness to call off the struggle.
The following is a quote from the contemporary nondual teacher, Adyashanti:
“Most people are in a constant state of struggle with themselves. Trememdously burdened by the past and in constant anticpation of the future, most human beings are rarely able to be fully present for more than very brief moments. The tremendous openness and intimacy that is required to be fully present is beyond most people’s ability to sustain for more than a few moments before they habitually contract back into the familiar condition of separateness and struggle that so characterizes the human condition…As long as you remain identified with the personality, you will always be seeking security to the exclusion of the Truth, and will remain in a constant sate of struggle. It is only when your love and desire for Truth outweighs the personality’s compulsive need for security, that you can begin to stop struggling and be swept up into the arms of an ever unfolding revelation of the Truth and Freedom of Being.”
In developing the ability to observe our habits, fixations, and core beliefs ultimately dissolves them and leads us into freedom, stillness, and spacious presence.
